No idea how much I have total. I have about 30TB of personal storage capacity in physical terms (disks.) I use OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, Amazon Cloud Drive (as of today), DropBox (just a little) and some other things for storing files like Flickr which houses over 10,500 images for me and YouTube which has a few hundred videos (mostly 1080p, some now 4K.)

I use a combination of NAS units and stand alone drives at home. I have something like 1,500 movies currently converted and on disk. Should do more but I am lazy.

Largest files currently are 40GB - 60GB. Once I start converting BluRays there will be tons in the 20GB - 40GB range, but I've not started that yet and don't know when I will.

Some things are small on their own, like hundreds of books in PDF and Mobi formats. But they add up.

I have a mix, of information across 4 laptops, 2 desktops and the following:

          1. 1 TB drive
          1. 2 TB Drive
          1. 80GB drives
          1. 20GB drives
        • Dropbox (free) 5GB
        • Box.net (free) 50GB
        • OneDrive (maybe).

Largest files are ISOs from DVD or CDs at either 700 MB or 4GB. Cant say I have anything more.

I'm in the process of paring down file and such.. I don't guess I need Windows 95 and a CD full of updates anymore. And I haven't started working with my C@C files yet.

          • 52GB of music
          • ~3-4 TB of videos between movies and TV shows
          • ~5-10GB of photos

          Total storage:

          • 2x2TB Seagate GoFlex Home Personal NASes
          • 2TB Seagate GoFlex
          • 4TB WD MyBook
          • 500GB WD Passport
          • 1.5TB of drives in my main server for all my VMs
          • 1TB WD and 240GB Samsung EVO 840 SSD in laptop

So if you just count server storage and raw file storage, raw file storage is about 10.5TB and total storage that isn't for workstations is about 12TB. 😄

What do you do with 40-60 GB files? I'm guessing you don't sync them to any sort of cloud service. If they are in the cloud at all, they go up and stay there, right?

              We have about
2 TB of movies on an extra drive.
1tb on Amazon prime that we have just left there.
              500gb on ITunes.
4Tb of music most of that is on ITunes and various usb sticks around here, we use ITunes Match to share everything around here as well.
We have icloud and Onedrive (each have our own personal and business accounts), Drop box and about 10 external drives for pictures. Most all of them are full at 1tb each and all from Africa

That's about to change. I need 10+ GB files to be shared to an editor soon.

So you're sticking with the 4K files?

Yes, have to. Editing for production. These are the raw files so even bigger than the ones going to YouTube and longer too.

Why do you need RAW 4K for production? Why not record in RAW HD?

Because HD is far too low. We WANT to be recording in 8K so that we can compress down to 4K. But that's not a reasonable option.

In disks I have about 20TB of storage, I would say largest file is in the 20GB range.

Storing it in a whitebox server build.

More than I need but less than I'd like.

I guess I am weird..... I store very little data.

I stopped storing movies/tv because I have been able to find whatever movies/tv I want on Netflix. Hulu Plus, etc. Anything I can't find on streaming, I can buy on Amazon. I don't watch much TV or Movies anyways.

I don't feel the need to store music with many of other good options (Youtube, Music Services, etc.)

                              I don't store a ton of photos.

I have a huge colletion of PDF's and eBook, but I am not storing them.......

I do store ISO's in onedrive.

I do store personal documents (encrypted) - tax returns, etc

@Aaron-Studer a lot of that is because you are young. I own thousands of CDs, hundreds of laserdiscs and thousands of DVDs alone. Plus BluRays and more recent things. I get my MP3s now from Amazon, but guess where those store - on Amazon Drive. Tons of the stuff that a lot of us store are from an era where we would have to throw them away if we didn't store them.

Today, yes, I try to buy movies via Amazon VOD. I don't want to be storing all of this stuff. I even replace some of it from time to time, but that is costly. Most of the stuff that I own is not available through Netflix or whatever.

@scottalanmiller Yeah. I am finding less and less stuff to store.... Maybe after I have kids, this will change.

Biggest files would be raw 5k video from the Red Epic. 240GB is the bigger ones and that is about 14min of video.

Traveling does it too. Doesn't take too much to start having loads and loads of photos.

I still have about 500 LPs I'd like to convert but it takes too much time.

That won't give you much storage though. Time to get a NAS.
