Is it a wolf spider?

Don't think so, it's too big. I have no idea what it might be. The body alone was over an inch.

My only guesses, based off of the spiders that live in Texas, are that it was a giant crab spider (aka huntsman) or a dark fishing spider. The later being very unlikely as it was not near water.
