The basement in my office building has zero cell signal. The new management wants to resolve this.

Anyone have a brand they've used and like?

While I agree, this may not resolve dropped signal while on a phone call, which is why I suspect @Dashrender is looking for a cell repeater.

The State put in a system on the five story building I left - Service was bad enough that it was required - mainly because wifi wasn't a solution 'permitted' for people to use.

Now - that was personal devices (in my case) the state phone, I didn't care, connect to wifi.

Actually, it will. It eliminates the problem completely.

This assumes the users all have phones that support IP calling. The age of some of these user devices is old.

They all do. It's that simple. No one has made a phone that doesn't support that in... over a decade? And no good carrier hasn't in longer. It's a very old technology. And very basic. And if someone doesn't have that, at some point, the repeater won't work anyway because they don't support current cellular network bands.

Wifi is the correct answer. A repeater is seriously silly. Just someone trying to spend money.

                    Look at Uniden-
Just had one show up at the office, while it’s built as a portable system, it’s the same tech as a mounted. Local unit with external antenna.

I'm thinking of getting something too and finally disconnect the landline. We will mostly use internet, but we need a backup if the internet goes down, other than driving until we get signal.

weBoost is the common booster around here, but I'm hoping for something cheaper.

@dashrender We had a Wilson one for years when 3/4G cell coverage was crap in our main building (well its's Western NY, cell coverage is crap anyways); pulled it last year as we have no need for it now with reduced staff in the building. I don't remember the model but it was a kit with an outside antenna we stuck up on the roof, an amp and an inside patch antenna we had in teh ceiling of our warehouse area. No configuration required just worked.

                          Get Starlink as a backup.

Already did preorder, just a waiting game now. And Starlink probably isn't going to be the backup.

Then use the current as the backup! 😉

Like many mentioned before WiFi is the more economical choice. Though if it is a must you can also try Ericson as well.
