Distant Desktop - remote desktop option for Windows

They are currently completely free, though I see nothing presently on their website on how they plan to keep their doors open.
Distant Software is the name of the company - but google returns nothing.

Nothing like giving console access to complete strangers.
Just nope.

I'm not sure what you mean - at some point TeamViewer was a complete stranger too... I was just hoping they would have some information about the company out there.
We just don't know what we don't know.. so yeah - on the side of caution today - can't use them.

Website makes odd claims, like "Remote Desktop" but has zero explanation of how it works. It appears to not use Remote Desktop, but you can't tell anything until you install and run.

I like this...
Trusted by 2M+ users
24*7 technical support
Tested on 50+ computersOver two million users (that none of us have ever heard of), comes with free 24x7 support that no one is paying for (2M users generate a lot of support needs) and it's been tested on.... 51 computers? WTF?
-
They list 2 million users, then they say "Our application is used by thousands of users around the world".
We use MeshCentral for thousands of users, just us. But 2M is a wholly different category of number. Which is it, thousands or millions?
This has "Spiceworks counting" feeling about it.

I know - that's where I was stuck too. lol

I sent them an email to get details, let's see if anyone responds.

Just contact their 24x7 support!
Oh wait, they don't have one. I looked at the page, there's no support... at all.

maybe the support is only available via the app - of course, I won't install it, so I can't tell.

“Hi,.. we are Distant Desktop (in a whisper: a division of some Windows Company), and we are here to help.
Please provide your IPaddress, Password,.. and CC number. We guarantee your security for all harm”

And the company posted verifiable information about the company, if not the product (because closed source).
No different than ScreenConnect or Pertino or AetherStore.
