PNY USB, 64 GB Drive inaccessible

A coworker had aPNY 64GB usb drive that neither Windows our Ubuntu can see much less format.
GParted can’t perform any action on it eitherIs it as I feel, that this device is lost?

I'd say fairly good chance of it being dead. I don't know of anything else to throw at that.

I didn’t think it would matter, but tried diskpart also.Ah well- worth a shot-

Please unplug the unnecessary devices, try other USB ports, and see if the device can be recognized. If the issue persists, please check if other USB devices can be detected.
If the issue still exists, it seems the USB drive is damaged. Do you have any important files? If you have, it's worth trying a data recovery tool like iBoysoft Data Recovery. I thought this post would be helpful for you: https://iboysoft.com/data-recovery/usb-drive-data-recovery.html
After data recovery, you can try Diskpart as gjacobse said.

It is a 64GB USB drive, your even thinking about it was not worth it.
