Domain Services is what everyone means when they talk about AD. Most businesses never even install the others, a lot don't even know that the others exist or what they do.

I dont have a domain to install this controller on...It's the first one. You are creating the domain.

Use wrcombs.local... or literally anything.
he's not up to that point yet, he has to select "new" rather than "existing" first.
He's not familiar with Forests and Domains as groupings, so wasn't understanding what it was showing.

created a new forest, under wcombs.local...
the net bios name should be WCOMBS .. right?
