What Are You Doing Right Now
-
@scottalanmiller No, for real there were 20+ notifications! It's not usually such a brisk pace. I've not spent much time in these parts yet I guess.
-
Maybe I was just keeping up well or there were a lot after you went to bed. It's been moderate today, but definitely not a busy day.
-
Gonna head to lunch soon. Getting hungry, and Subway sounds good!

It was It is Liesl's favourite so I always get it when I can. Pretty healthy to be her favourite thing so I am happy to get it for her.

The kids are watching the NY Ballet Co. do the Nutcracker Suite. Just something from Netflix.

Getting a Uhaul van for tomorrow. Making a very quick trip, up and back, from Peekskill to Rochester to Utica and back in one go. Going to be a crappy, long day. Have to load and unload twice in one trip!
-
When you get here you can borrow a teenager and maybe a husband to help.

It's only a van, will probably be unloaded before they could get there. Just boxes going straight into the garage. Where I really need help is in Frankfort where I have to load a stove.
-
Can't help you there sorry.
-
Take a dolly cart with you
-
We have one there. It's getting a stove into a van on wet mud that is going to be awful.
-
It's been kinda slow here for the past 2 weeks it seems.

Yes, I think that the holidays do that. Everyone slows down for the holidays. Thanksgiving week causes a huge drop in traffic. Then it is the slow slide into Christmas.
I've noticed other sites getting slower this time of year too.
-
Everyone is very busy with end of the year/holiday projects. If our new signed quotes are any indication everyone has been saving all their work for the last couple weeks.
-
It's like Christmas in... December. Oh, wait.
-
I'm showing the owners wife how to copy and paste from Word into MyPublisher so she can make a recipe book for someone for Christmas...

Conference calls galore today! Everyone wants to get their stuff scheduled before the end of the year! Umm don't people realize that the end of the year is only 3 weeks away. Wanting to do a full infrastructure build when nothing has been signed, or ordered (servers etc) is NOT going to happen before December 31st!

Actual Conference call discussion today:
Conference call today:
Client: What do you mean you can't redo all of our servers etc. by end of year?
Me: Well that is only 3 weeks away and you haven't ordered any of your custom equipment or paid for us to get started on this.
Client: But you sent us this contract 6 months ago why didn't you plan better?
Me: Umm there is an expiration on that of 60 days. Without payment we can't start on a project of this size.
Why oh why do customers think that IT must be magicians in December? Where were you 6 months ago when I spent hours putting that together for you?

We sent you the contract six months ago, and you didn't pay. Did you expect us to just start working on it without getting something in return first?
