Can we please just nuke this whole thread? All the feedback was already taken into consideration. It's really not becoming a good look for anyone.
If anything, I think it's been a good look on Skyetel and an example of their customer service. Granted, it's out in the open and therefore have incentive to do better, but I think they've handled the bashing well and taken appropriate steps to satisfy the needy.

Go check YOUR pricing inside of your Skyetel dashboard, it's a fraction of what is on that public pricing page.

Looking at this from a reseller perspective......I would never do business with a company that published reseller pricing to the public. How on earth would you survive if your customers knew your costs for the products you are reselling to them? And yes, I can justify our margins, but why the hell would I want to have that battle, when it is completely unnecessary?

This is one of the top reasons why we don't publish those rates. About 80% of our customer base resells us to their own customers, and many of those end users will price compare our resellers to Flowroute, Voip.MS, BluIP, etc. We want our retail pricing to be what we would expect our resellers to charge their customers while our Relationship pricing be what we offer to those who are reselling us and/or those who provide technical support services that has end users not contacting our support team directly.
Since this issue seems to come up a lot, I am going to post a new post about our Relationship pricing in the next couple of weeks.

A.) they do publish pricing,

Show me the thread where you went after an auto manufacturer for posting the retail price in the window sticker instead of the "Hidden" price you are likely to actually pay.None of this is directed at you, Scott. I know you know how businesses stay in business. (say that ten time real fast)

A huge difference between Skyetel and most of the other complaints threads about hidden pricing is that those other companies don't provide ANY public pricing - at least Skyetel offers the MSRP pricing - but, unless the typical Skyetel customer is actually paying those rates - I'd definitely say that the listed pricing is not the real pricing, and those drifting through different vendors websites will likely drift right on past Skyetel because they are MSRP'ed higher than VOIP.ms etc.
Now if Skyetel's primary business model is to be resold, then why list pricing at all?
@JaredBusch and I both don't resell anything (or nearly anything) We are the customer advocate. To keep ourselves neutral, we need to not make any money on recommendations that we put forth to our clients - this shows how much we really value the products we endorse - it's about the value they bring our clients, not the back end money they put in our pockets. We both have our clients buy services direct from places like VOIP.ms and Skyetel - so they see the direct pricing.

Normally the system is pay ahead only, that he was able to port with no money on the account is odd. It is, under normal circumstances (and this is pretty standard for trunk providers for many reasons) standard to only allow you to pay ahead and send a notice when you are getting low on funds so that you can "top up", either manually or automatically. Under normal conditions here, I wouldn't expect a possibility of being in the negative.
This is true - our LNP team should not have ported the number without first reaching out to him about having a $0 balance. We made a mistake and we're going to be making sure to clarify that with our team
I intentionally didn't add funds to a new account I setup (but it does have a valid CC linked) and inititated a port request.
