Wrist or back problems? mouse, keyboard, chair?
-
I've got some minor wrist pain and numbness issues from way too much time spent with keyboards/mice/controllers. I use a trackball at work and have found that to be very helpful. Avoiding track pads like the plague they are is also helpful, those things tear up my shoulder.

Which one do you prefer a normal mouse(wireless) a TrackBall (Logitech/wireless) or some other think? have you ever had a wrist problem or do you have one (surgery)? I have a LogitechM570 and it save me from wrist surgery, any other gadgets you have?
I've been a user of the Logitech Marble Mouse since the first one came out in the 90s. I tried the ones shaped like the M570 and they hurt my thumbs, lol.

Over the last couple of years I've started suffering from a wrist inflamation which gets really bad when I try to use a normal mouse. A vertical mouse is bearable for me. I tried trackballs but the're not my thing.

I used to have some pretty bad wrist pain, but that is mostly gone since I switched to an Anker vertical mouse and MS ergonomic keyboard.
I still have some pain after long days of lots of coding, so I may try out a trackball to see if that helps as well.

I just use Cortana to transcribe everything and do my work for me!
....said no one ever.

Right, avoid it like the plague.

I had a horrible cheapo high back chair at work when I first started here. I started getting numbness in my hands and feet and thought I was getting some neurological disorder. Once I swapped out my chair for a better one, it went away in a few days. I still have other ergo issues, but it is mostly my own fault. Keyboard and monitor placement are also big things.

My current office chair back annoyed me i removednit. Pics later.

M570 saved me as well, they're awesome.
Just as important is focusing on my posture. If you slump over like a bag of shit your body contorts and it'll punish you hard.

The walks are so important, they help a lot, same with eyes exercises, someone told me to look far away from time to time
But guessing about standing desk? any info comments on those? -
I've used Logitech trackballs for over 20 years now. Been using the M570 both at work and at home for quite a while.
As for keyboards, I've also used various ergonomic keyboards (mostly logitech and MS) for the past 20 years. For the past 10+ years, my keyboard of choice is an Adesso PCK-208B...definitely not compatible with a tight workspace, but it works well for me. Initially bought it because, well, I'm cheap, and so was it.
Awesome thing about having a ergo keyboard plus trackball at home:
Visitor: Can I use your computer?
Me: Sure, help yourself
Visitor (looks puzzled staring at keyboard/trackball combo): Nevermind
Me (Grinning): Suit yourself
