Hmm, I thought S1E1 was going to give us a mix of Family Guy & Star Trek but after that episode, it started to look like they really wanted to make a real Star Trek type show and the zaniness I was hoping for, became less and less with each episode.

OMG - I'm glad they dropped that zaniness you mention - it would have killed it for me. I just can't stand JackAss type shit. The first 3-5 episodes of Orville where steeped in it.. thankfully they dialed it WAY back.
