One of the oldest theaters in Atlanta is showing the original 1954 Godzilla this weekend, complete with folks in monster costumes walking around.
SO like a normal day in Atlanta.

Pretty much. Atlanta is great like that because these guys put on these movie events and also monster wrestling. Here's the poster for the event:

It depends on what you didn't like about the anime. It is a movie, so it doesn't drag on the way the anime did. It doesn't have as much posing and rhapsodizing. It is clearly an homage to the anime though, so many of the same themes come through.
