Well was planning on Chinese delivery, but once again I missed the window in which they were open. Argh. Why does everything in Texas close so early!

Want to compare that to Wooster, OH businesses? There are advantages to moving into the Columbus area, just not financial ones.

For lunch Pork Steaks cooked low and slow in my crock pot along with Onions, carrots and portabella mushrooms. With my signature rub on them. My rub contains Smoked Paprika, Chipotle powder, Garlic Powder, Pink Himalayan Salt, and pepper.

I bet a rub like that would be excellent with a little finely ground espresso added to the mix.

Hmmm...... I will find out. I mainly use the rub when I smoke meat in my smoker. However, when I don't want to fuss with the smoker I will do my meat in the crockpot as it is much easier. Last night was at the grocery store and saw a package of three pork steaks on sale. Snatched them up and cooked them overnight. Now I have lunch for today and the rest of the work week.

My comment was mostly inspired by the fact that your rub sounds very similar to the Floribbean rub that this guy makes, minus the coffee. I've been watching the sale area at the store for pork steaks... what a great cut that never caught on in the south.

@jaredbusch do you par cook the bacon before wrapping? I can't ever seem to get it crispy without killing the veg.

No, just wrap and cook. On the grill it is hit or miss on the quality of the vegetable.

In the oven, it is usually fine.
