Samsung's DeX, a docking station to turn your Galaxy phone into an Android desktop machine, is right around the corner.

This is what I think more home users need. Enough to have a "real" desktop from time to time, without having to invest in a device just for that.

I demoed this recently, first of all Dex has been released this is 2nd version.
If it gets polished more it will be perfect, some windows hang and stuff even though the hardware in the phone is impressive, however a full simple Linux environment would be perfect that is why the future is either phones that do those or 96 boards.

Microsoft tried this with Windows Phone. WOudl have been good had Windows Phone not jsut sucked.

It'll be a challenge for anyone doing this with a phone, but I think that it has a lot of potential.

I've been telling people this sort of thing is what to expect for the future of computing solutions for some years now.
Not sure this is the device that will make it catch on but we are ever closer to it being a truly useful option.
