What Are You Doing Right Now

One of @NTG's customers yesterday emailed all of us asking us to post on Facebook and wherever information that one of their employee's and his family was seeking his long lost brother, put up for adoption in 1966. They've wondered what has happened to him for 52 years! They found him, in a single day! They are doing DNA tests to be completely sure, but they are certain it is him. They knew where he was adopted and where he went to live and I think he was aware of his birth name and so forth. It was all in a relatively local area and near where the client's offices were, so people who knew people were able to figure it out quickly.
Very cool that something like that worked and worked so quickly.

What better way to "go public" then to royally screw up hosting on a website. . .
Dell has always had issues with their website and HP and really every major hardware vendor I can think of. Can't they hire some people who understand sys admin and website admin. . .

LOL, no, that would be more reliable. I've hosted from my basement and did SO much better over SDSL with a single line than does. And I mean that literally. We went four years without an outage!

But did they put in redundancy? AWS is not redundant if you don't know what you are doing (and they don't.)
-
Dell home page is now not secure

I don't have all the details but they have multiple parts of the systems in different nodes. They also use Incapsula for CDN and DDOS.
