Anyone seen this error before? Apparently it happens when SW tries to send out notification emails through the application.

Yes. Like forever ago. No idea as I don't use SW.
There is no option on the SW server we are managing to do that. Definitely not obvious anywhere.

How do you know? They could have a system in place that records every ticket, anonymizes it from which they create a sales deck to pull in more money.

I've seen some of the collected data that they shared on accident, it was definitely not anonymized.
