Coca-Cola to Launch First Alcoholic Product Ever
-
BBC News reports that Coke is going to launch its first alcoholic product soon in Japan. They report that this is their first alcoholic product in their 125 year history. This is odd, of course, to those of us from New York who are aware that Coke is one of the largest wine producers in the state. I guess to the BBC, as was traditionally true in Russia, that wine is considered a soft drink?

Marlboro will surely load it up with every toxic chemical known to mankind.

@scottalanmiller I thought CocaCola sold that back off.
A quick google turned up this article http://www.nytimes.com/1983/09/28/business/market-place-coca-cola-without-wine.html
And this wiki about Sterling Vineyards states they got out also.

They might have, but they were trying to claim that this was their first one ever, and it was a pretty major operation a few decades ago.

It was definitely around much later than 1983, I wouldn't remember it from then. I remember it more from the late 1990s on Canadaigua Lake.

Just read the article. This is CocaCola not a subsidiary, so this is technically true. CocaCola owned the winery stuff separately, not as CocaCola
