I recommend the orginal KOTOR for the best experience of this style. DA is great too. Its more refined than KOTOR, but the story line and different places you visit in KOTOR can't be beat.
I love KOTOR too. But I like DAO better.
The first time I played through KOTOR, I used laser rifles and pistols with my main character. It amounted to all sorts of useless upgrades when I finally became a jedi. That is the fun part about RPGs though. Building your characters wrong the first time, makes it fun in the long run.
Never use blasters! Blades to lightsabers all the way!

I know that now, but I didn't know that the first time I played. Blasters really suck in that game. Carth is the only person that can actually use blasters.

Never bring a gun to a knife fight! If you can use swords in a game, in whatever form they are, always do it! Besides, it's a Star Wars game. How can you not just know that you'll be a Jedi (or the most evil Sith ever apparently)? Lol

My favorite game, but I didn't like DA2 when I started it. I still don't know how it ended, so I need to play it myself before Scott starts playing the 3rd one, or I won't be able to be in the room! I can't stand spoilers!

Yeah, you need to get on that. Actually we should play all of the way through all of them again. The kids have never seen either of the first two and they are so into the games and their storylines.

We started playing Space Quest III here tonight.
-
@scottalanmiller Eh... I feel like DAO is too violent and full of scary characters for them. Also, half my fun is seducing the other members of my team, so inappropriate themes.

Morrigan...:D

@ajstringham I made a point my second time through to seduce every single person on my team, lol. The first time I played through, not all of them loved me enough and I was sorry later, so the second time through I made sure they all LOVED me.
Edited to remove what might have been a spoiler.

I have played a few Star Wars games where you never become a Jedi.
