Believe it or not, I have never eaten a mango.....

I always get jealous of people that live in locations where fresh fruits grow. Yet another reason (in addition to not letting my kids keep secrets) to get off my ass and work on my Japanese skills.

MangoLassi community road trip

After living in a tropical country I have to say I hate eating fruit here now. Nothing tastes even close to what it tastes like when you go pick it off a tree in your yard. Mangos are awesome in Africa here not so much... blah tasting (not that they are bad just not as good).
-
I love the dehydrated mango chunks I get in my trail mix. yum.
-
@Minion-Queen Same way with Pineapples in Hawaii. I was told part of the reason for the taste difference was the fact that they pick them green and ship them to the states, so by the time they get here they are kinda rotten to begin with.
-
Yup picking things early and letting them ripen off the vine/tree/whatever just doesn't taste as good as fresh. Pineapple, bannanas avacados, mango guava all better in Africa
-
Like apples in New York and beer in England.
-
@scottalanmiller I miss NY apples. I'm sorry but Texas just doesn't know apples. Or pizza. Or wings. lol
-
Yeah pizza in Dallas isn't good however there is a street vendor in Austin that has AWESOME NYC style pizza

That's my point though. They are still making NY style pizza. They know where the good quality and good style comes from.

And, surprisingly, I found a pretty good pizza place about 10 minutes from me. Corner of Frankford and Josey I think. Place is called Joe's. Looks like real Italians work there. It was quite good.
-
However, it's priced like your normal NY pizzeria so not cheap but not crap either.
