What Are You Doing Right Now

About to listen to a webinar from Sangoma: "Securing Your VoIP Solution"

Here's a gem:

"Hey, let's do a big platform update during the working day!!! Should be fine, nobody will notice!!!"

Sounds about normal for them.

@travisdh1 I look back there maybe 3x a week, and that's what I see. The rest is so f@cking annoying I want to go on a tri-state killing spree (just kidding, I'd actually just target a few SW mods if I went on a killing spree).

Be more like me... ignore the fact that that place even exists and live a more stress free life.

Getting some quotes for new phones, coming in under what I quoted the boss. So things are looking good.

Don't you love it when that happens?
-
@travisdh1 Oh, I do. I might peruse that site for 90 seconds per week, but when I do, I'm always assaulted by BULLSHIT.
Austin, TX would be a way cooler town if SW left. SW is like an inoperable cyst on what is otherwise one of the best cities in America. I'd love to go back there, but I'd be pissed if I ran into any of their cocktarded drones. Like ruin my trip pissed.

That's nuts. Glad everyone was safe!
What's nuts is that no one cooked hotdogs over that fire.
Come on!

Always a nice surprise.
-
@rojoloco Do you prefer doing updates after hours and no one reports the issues until the next day?

Not so sure about the plastic that would be on them.

Yes.

Why not do them after hours and task them with verifying before work starts?
-
@dbeato I do updates on the weekends where applicable. Any and all issues will be seen by me, because we are a tiny environment. Nowhere near the claimed 6 million users that crapworks has. And if I started updating and rebooting shit during 9-5, you better believe my job would hang in the balance (actually, I'd be fired post haste for doing something so fucking stupid).

Understood, but this has been going on for 2 weeks with updates on the Community. With multiple feed problems.
-
@rojoloco But this is your normal environment into which you have downtime off hours. Do you have 24/7 systems where there is interaction all the time and you cannot afford downtime? Mangolassi updates happens too albeit at night but still on "production hours". But anyhow in an office environment yeah it will not be nice.
