NodeBB 1.6 is All About the Speed

This is pretty exciting. The update, expect to be applied around here this weekend, is purported to bring some massive speed improvements to the platform! We always like to see more speed. As it is, people rave about how fast and easy it is to post, respond and see answers. This looks like we might really feel the leap forward with this update!

This is a big "behind the scenes" change that is going to make @Minion-Queen very happy...
Ability to place HTML and Text widgets on specific categories, instead of just site-wide

Yeah, that'll be something. Although that's a 200% leap in scoring, not sure how that relates to true rendering time.

Emojis just don't work. They are third party plugins and are non-functional most of the time. No one seems to support them, so they don't get fixed.

Seems to be about the same here. It's fast, but I can't say that it is faster.

I kind of feel like it might be a little faster.

New NodeJS updates are speeding things up too, I would reckon. They've gotten the platform sped up a bit in the last few months.

Mangolassi.it was already so fast that it'd be hard for me to tell a difference without logging a lot of extra stats, because the meat bag running the computer can't process fast enough to tell already.
