I'm finally taking the time to sit down and install this on an Ubuntu VM right now.

Got this installed as a vm on my laptop, which will now use it's own local PiHole as the first dns server. Seems to be working well, haven't done a lot of web surfing yet, but I'm already telling a difference with those annoying "we want to show you notifications" boxes, they don't come up so often when using Chrome now.

I've done the same setup on my desktop and laptop for awhile now too. Its working pretty good.
Its setup on KVM while I'm using Fedora and on Hyper-V while I'm on Windows 10. Gotta love virtualization.

I really like the design of the UI and they did a great job on installation and configuration of the software. I spun it up and changed the DNS configuration for my Google Fiber account so that all devices on my network get assigned PiHole for their DNS, and et voila; I'm in business.

I haven't really noticed any improvement in the quality of internet, but it seems to be working.

My wife noticed most on her phone where ads that used to take up her screen had disappeared.

That’s because you have fiber lol

This is my favorite. Works in the built in Facebook browser too. No need for 1 blocker anymore πŸ™‚

My wife had to shut off her wifi to get her shopping cart to load a bit ago. I was out working on the front yard and not in a position to troubleshoot.

I think she was shopping on ShopJustice.com or something.

dont (yet) have a lab virtual host at home, but do have 2 new (to me) PI's on the way so one will be for this app.

I've set this up on vultr. It's been working phenomenally.

Monitoring more then anything else. I'm not too concerned by other people using it. The admin interface is locked down to just my IP and it's a pretty complex password.

Does it matter? I let people use mine. It's DNS, I could handle thousands of users without noticing.

Now I just need @coliver's for backup and I don't need to run my own DNS anymore lmao

And we can mess with you. All kinds of funny things can happen if you control the DNS for lots of people.
