Sodium Agent Support Matrix
-
As we attempt to test and make the Sodium Agent work on as many operating systems as possible, we realized that we need a way to track status to know what is working, what won't work, what is kind of working and so forth. So here we go.

This is where things stand right now. We are getting more operating systems set up for additional testing, especially Windows. Hopefully we will have some Macs on the matrix soon.
-
Our first new addition to the list, Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS has been tested with the "DEB Generic" installer package and the install and the monitoring are working perfectly. No need to do anything with the installer, it "just works". For reference, the system was updated before attempting the installer. If you install the agent to a non-updated system, let us know what it does.
-
We have added openSuse Leap 42.3 as a working agent installer!
-
openSuse Leap 42.3 is fully scanning now. Another one under our belts. We expected no problems as Tumbleweed has been so solid, as has Gecko.
-
We have added Windows Server 2008 R2 to the matrix with the agent install working like a charm. Monitoring is mostly working but is not 100%.
-
Spoke too soon, 2008 R2 scanning is working!
-
Before calling it a night, we get to announce that Windows 2012 is fully working. Both for the agent install and for the monitoring and scanning!
-
Our last systems of the night have reported in. We now have Zorin 12.1 with a clean agent install using the DEB Generic installer. Scanning is not 100% because we have the same application enumeration issue that we have with Deepin. But we are very close and likely the issue is the same.
-
And more importantly, we have full agent install and scanning with Windows Server 2008. The only caveat here is that the .NET Framework 4.0 installation has to be done prior to attempting the install of Sodium.
-
Matrix is filled out and up to date.
-
We are now able to add ElementaryOS to the matrix! Agent install is clean, but we have the same application enumeration problem as with several other Ubuntu-derived distros. Hopefully they can all be fixed together. Install is done using the "DEB Generic" installer.

What dependencies does the agent have? Just for us curious types who will install it anywhere.

Mostly Python 2.7, where do you want to install it?

I've got a blank XS6.5 I can try it on. Should be doable. Time to break out the XS ninja skills.

Use the RPM installer first, might "just work."

Please do NOT try it on Hyper-V. For reasons.
-
Obviously works on KVM. We have it working a lot of places there.
-
Yes please avoid Hyper-V for now.

Pretty sure I have it running on one of the two we have running..
