In my experience (not being sexist, just observational) many women enjoy coop games more than direct competition oriented ones. Pandemic is probably the top of that stack, but there are a lot of options out there.

Haha, I've found that women are more likely to try different games then men. But I think I'm a bit biased because I prefer coop games.

It's enough of a difference that whole vendor brands base their marketing around the differences.

I am talking about coop boardgames, just to be clear. Not CoD coop.

That sucks because I am way more inclined to compete 😞

Different as in non coop, or just wanting variety?

Wanting variety. Non-coop and coop alike. I prefer coop games so those are the ones I generally recommend.

Not Pen and Paper, board games in general. Haven't really convinced any players to try RPGs unless they've done them before... male or female.

I'm finding that half of everyone that I know, with some strong leaning towards the female, are playing D&D these days.

It's been a gaming renaissance of late. Lots of really amazing role playing games and board games are coming out in-part because of Hasbro/Wizards investment in the space since 4e. I'm not a big fan of D&D but I appreciate where it is driving the market.

TI3 is great, but very time consuming. Shattered Empire is almost a requirement for it, but does add some to the complexity. It still ranks as one of my top all time games, but I don't get to play it much.

Used to play TI3 with a regular group but I don't think I've ever played the game as written. House rules all the way, sometimes light and sometimes damn near a whole new game. That crew liked to tinker.

Eclipse has a lot of similar appeal but is a tighter design and certainly requires a lesser time investment per game.

This makes me sad D&D in it's most recent incarnations heavily encourages the railroad. People need to discover better RPGs.

I do like me some Eclipse, but it isn't in the same category for me as TI3. I love epic lengthed games though.

The Surge is out today; thinking about getting that one, though it may be too rage inducing(it look rather difficult from teh trailers). Does look fun though, hacking people apart and taking their exoskeleton armor suits to upgrade your own.

Phantom Dust Remastered is out today. Pretty obscure game but a lot of people are obsessed with it. Windows 10 and Xbox One. It's free currently.
