You do not need to use a relay, you can simply mark your WAN IP trusted in Office 365 by making a connector.
We answered this question (again) a month or so ago in another post.

I'll have to see if that is an option, do you recall who made the post? Was it me?

What about scanning to email? Does that work? Fix one and you fix the other, most likely.
No, nothing email works if its not using a relay, which we are attempting to remove.

Thank you, I'll see if this is an option. Otherwise it's replace the device

Using any Linux distro and Postfix will work perfectly as well. Just has to be configured correctly. But the Connector keeps it all inside Office 365

One battle at a time, still need access to hypervisors here.
(new job)

So does your Canon support TLS ? If not (I know you are using port 587) but RIcoh and Canons are common to not support this without much finagling with their configuration and firmware updates.
If you need a internal relay you can use Hmail

No it doesn't appear to support TLS. We're going ahead with a connector and be done with it.
