I am reading this article and the whole time I'm thinking these guys are probably making some really good money to put up with this BS. When you look at what they were paying $13-17 an hour, it is unbelievable they don't have more leaks. You'd think people would come and go like they would at McDonalds for that hourly rate.

That's one of the reasons that Google keeps this stuff tightly under wraps, they like people to think that they pay really well - but no one actually knows.

This sounds like India to me. Unbelievable they are able to get away with treating people like this here in the United States.

Also amazing that Americans put up with it.

I was just reading some reviews of LF on Glassdoor. It's mostly vulnerable people working for them. College students, stay at home moms, and internet enthusiast are mostly the ones doing this work.

You get $13-17 an hour as a contractor. Not to mention they require a ton of unpaid training. So after you do the math, it's actually less than minimum wage.

Ah, makes sense. It's funny that in the US "college student" = "vulnerable." But it really does.

The blog article I posted is a really interesting read. It sounds like they are really exploiting their workers to one step above slavery. Too bad it affects the disabled, elderly, college students, and stay at home moms.

It's unfortunate that it affects the disabled, elderly and moms. College students choose their own vulnerability and have no one to blame but themselves. I don't have the capability to feel badly for them in that case.

That really changes your perception of Google, doesn't it!

Interesting turn of events on how Ars Technica is no longer available. Coincidence?

I read both the ars articles(the one about conditions and the one about the firing). The comments in yesterday's article were infiltrated by many people from LeapForce defending the company. 20 somethings showing loyalty to a shitty corporation that pays them 13.50 an hour with no benefits while the ceo is making millions each year.
The company exists solely so Google doesnt have to have these people as their own employees. Their only customer is google. It is a rather disgusting thing.

Rare to see Moonshark these days.

If it is like a lot of companies with those kinds of employees, quite often they force them to type up responses. I know companies that do that with those "best places to work" surveys for Forbes. They check their answers to make sure that they win year after year.

Sounds a lot like the people that talk kids into selling magazines across the country.
