Yup just wait till you are old. Then you won't be young.
Just to expound on Bill's pronouncement.
Hmmm during my first year here at work i thought I'm the Youngest .
But today i am the oldest in our Department hahah.hahah. -
It can happen fast
I'm still young nearly anywhere that I work. I'm still at least 10 years younger than the average of my teams.
-
AJ,
I had the following certifications before I was 18:
MOS, A+, Network +, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, and CWNA.
So I was the young guy everywhere.

Why does age matter? I really don't see why it's even a topic of discussion (other than blowing your own horn). As long as you do your job and do it well without giving talk back no one cares what age you are outside of legal issues. (18 for some things, 21 for driving for work). When people label you as "old" is when you stop learning new things, become stubborn and hardheaded and that can happen to people at any age.

Why is everyone blowing this up? It was a straight comment. That's all.

Maybe because this type of comment belongs more on a blog and not on a tech forum. Also, forums are much more about posting responses.

This is a social community, not solely technical.

So how old is everyone? C'mon, don't be shy.
I'm 42. I was 25 when I got my first IT Manager role for a massive US company. I was flying! My career was pretty good in my twenties. But not much happened in my thirties. I don't care as I got happier, had kids and stopped working so hard. Now my kids are growing up fast and are getting more independent, I'm starting to think I need another big push.

Nice. You're still pretty young then.
