Is Starwind available on Linux yet?
Yes
Just the appliance? I was looking this morning on my phone and got tired of searching.

It's not on the site. There was some announcement, but I heard second hand.

Ah ok. That explains it. I thought I saw it somewhere but couldn't find any info. Thanks.

I think it might only be the VSA image. Not an installer package at this point.

Picked my wife up from the hospital, we're both back home now. She is OK, according to the circumstances.
Thank you all for all the positive feedback that we received just from mentioning that I would visit her in the hospital.

Spent an hour tripping over my tongue trying to record training screencasts. Found out after the last successful attempt that the audio got garbled. Screen recorder I was using was shit.
Going to try out BandiCam next week instead.

Have you checked out OBS? It can record to the hard drive.

Completing my duties as network / server administrator: Creating a form-fillable PDF.

@coliver I haven't. If BandiCam / BandiCut fail me I might take a look at that next.

It's opensource so you may want to look at it first.

Have you tried Audacity? Might be overkill for what you are doing, but it's open source and pretty intuitive, and you won't run into quality issues.

0% for formalized training in a classroom. Wow.

As it should be. Experience says it is a horrible idea. You should talk to @stacksofplates about the horrendous classroom experience that he just had. Whole course was fake. Professor had clearly never seen a computer before and made everything up. All obviously fake and a classroom full of people who couldn't tell!

I've done a few classroom courses and the only ones that were valuable were ones where the material was kept secret or the equipment was not available to learn on my own. Like IBM's AIX course. The course was only so so, but there wasn't an alternative, really.
I've taken RH Architect courses and there were decent, but all I really needed was the book. The classroom was just a means of slowing down the learning and making it expensive.
