The Hewlett-Packard Slate21 Pro Android desktop is out now. Quad core NVidia Tegra ARM processor. Touchscreen plus keyboard and mouse.

I am super interested to see this in action. Could be a really neat device. Although curious about benefit of Android vs. Chromebook in this case. But quite intrigued.

For the Android fans: how do you stand not having one yet?

The problem I see this having is non chrome growers might not work for some business websites...

Though I'm not sure that chrome is any different.

Can you get Firefox for Android? I think that you can.

Yes. They have Firefox for Android. It makes more sense to use Chrome though.

The question is in reference to corporate sites that may not work in Chrome.

Ah ok. Well, yes. Firefox is an available app from Mozilla on Android. They even have the Firefox Sync you can use.

@scottalanmiller there's a million browsers for Android. Actually Chrome usually isn't even the default browser on android.

This is true. The "Internet" browser is. Not sure exactly why but it is.

Looks like an interesting unit. Has anyone tried out an Android desktop?

@Reid-Cooper I haven't. I don't see this being used much outside of non techsavy/parents/grandparents types. I'll happily be wrong on that though.

AJ had said that he was interested in an Android desktop. I think a lot of Android people will be interested in them.

Interesting concept. Won't be very popular. I suspect only existing android junkies will give this a second look.

If Apple made an iPad equivalent maybe the combination could generate some market interest.
