X2Go Annoyance CAPS lock
-
Been running into a rather minor but frustrating annoyance with X2Go lately.
From time to time 'sees' that the CAPS LOCK is on, when there is no local keyboard attached.
It doesn't seem to matter if I have caps lock on the computer or not that I am working from, but the Linux Mint box with no attached keyboard or mouse can get 'stuck'
Even closing X2Go doesn't correct it, I have to go to that computer, plug in the USB Keyboard and sign in...
Any thoughts on how to maybe address and correct this?

@gjacobse This has always been one of those minor annoyances with remote anything. If Caps Lock or Num Lock are in a different state on the remote thing than the local thing, how does either side know and update as such?

Agreed.... but in this case - since I don't use caps lock... and there is no keyboard connected to that computer,.. how did it get turned on?

Someone had it on in a remote sessions and didn't turn it back off before they closed the session is what normally causes this.

Just for the record, I resemble my own remarks.

Are you using mate or cinnamon? You can set the num lock and caps lock with gconf so it will stay the same with mate. I'm assuming Cinnamon is using dconf like Gnome3.
