I have 5 Exchange accounts in my Outlook 2016 locally and I consistantly have problems. I barely use one calendar.

So anyway.. despite my typing spelling and just plain got it wrong issues.

What about what @Dashrender asked above

@Dashrender said in Exchange Outlook Client replacement:

OK - Outlook is having an issue with the number of accounts (I gotta believe that it's related to the caching, but what do I know).

What about App V? Now I don't think normal people can get access to App V (I think requires Volume License and other things) and I have NO clue what it takes to build one or use it, etc.

So what if we make it a little simpler - A VM with Office installed inside it? Then the user can have two copies of Outlook running side by side, one with 4 accounts and one with 3.

Yes there will be licensing costs, but to solve the issue, it might be worth it.

Additional VMs can be created if 4 or 3 accounts can't co-exist in a single copy of Outlook.

Isn't there a way to run Outlook in some sort of container on the desktop to split up multiple copies of it without needing a full VM with a full additional operating system for it?

                  Yeah, it's call App-V.

That is what @Dashrender jsut suggested with App-V. But that is not something small to setup.

Whoops, was thinking he wanted to use XenApp or something like that. Brain fart. Carry on.

Well... that taking forever is kinda a given for some reason.

I know that Outlook gets funny when there are like 15,000+ emails in the inbox and cached mode isn't on, so they are all in there. Archiving them and separating them into different folders seems to mitigate that issue. Perhaps turning on the cache mode to 3 months or something may help.

Perhaps that's the problem, too many emails in the inboxes of all the accounts. Outlook does just fine "in my experiences everywhere" with many O365 email accounts in the same Outlook profile.

Same with all the calendars... no issues there.

I have everything sorted into folders and it archives out every few months. My mail box is organized really well (not sure how I could keep track of things otherwise). I have tried shutting caching off (it is currently off) and having it on. Outlook just can't handle the main huge account plus another small one.

                                      It is what it is.

So after a couple weeks of testing. I found that splitting up my accounts between both Outlook and EmClient has worked the best. EmClient couldn't handle them all either but having both running side by side is working well. I love the contact details portion of EmClient. Very slick and a bit like having a CRM in my email (just basic but it works well).

Back when I had a windows machine I used EmClient and had a few others that used it. It's a decent product.
