Unless it is part of update 10.1.1 - it doesn't appear to be available on the iPhone 6.
It was part of iOS 10 and works on my iPhone 6s.
I have not turned it off yet. still deciding if I like it or not.
-
Great info...I had a user the other day irritated by this and turned this off...

I've not seen it anywhere but the 7, but I'm guessing it is just one is on by default or off by default.

I get why they do it, but it doesn't feel like it would be very popular. Unless you never touch your phone, it's on constantly.

The way this is implemented is slightly different on my new Android phone. If I go to pick it up it triggers a black and white screen at the lowest brightness which shows the time and 4 notifications. Really like this feature as I can quickly figure out the time and if I have anything important I need to respond to.

It would appear that it is NOT available to my phone as it is a iPhone 6. Only the SE, 6s and 7 have it available:
- iPhone 6 128GB Space Gray (GSM) AT&T MG4R2LL/A

That would be a bit nicer. Although that's what I use the Watch for.

Definitely on the 6s and 7. Never looked at the SE.

I would like a wrist device... but can't wear one.
-
@coliver Why would you want a wrist device? I enjoy the freedom and safety and lack of hair pulling immensely

Ah, yeah, definitely understandable. Allergic reaction to the metal backing or what?

No clue, happens with those plastic admittance bands as well. It will itch for days afterward. Shirt sleeves will also sometimes do it but rarely.

Curious. If I wear long sleeve shirts or sweaters, they drive me nuts. I wear coats just long enough to get me in a building.

I rarely wear long sleeves,... and if I wear a pull over with long sleeves, I push them up.

Since I hide my notifications, it's only useful for showing me the time.

I get irritation like that sometimes, When I do, I have to stop wearing the watch for 3-5 days until it completely heals, and make sure I clean my wrist device with cleaners. Then normally it doesn't come back.
-
I would not be happy if my phone was turning on in my pocket, or whenever moved. That's annoying. Maybe if I lived alone and didn't carry it it would not be so bad.
