Conditions added and all that, but Charter seems to be accepting them.

That was my thoughts too. I love Charter in my area, but if they start data capping, I'll be pitching fits.

That's one of the provisions. They aren't allowed to put any data caps in place, at least from how I read it, that would negatively impact the online video competitiveness in the market.

Is TW data capping? AFAIK they are not doing that (yet).

"We approve the deal as long as you hold off on raping your customers for 7 years, at which point we'll all be retired and nobody will remember that we approved it"

No they are not, yet. I haven't heard about it being discussed either but that doesn't mean much.

They were demoing it in some test markets a few years ago. I believe it didn't get very far.

Interesting. I had no idea. I'll have to keep up on this since I'm in Charter territory. I'm currently using U-verse (which I'm happy with), but I'm curious to see how this may change Charter's service offerings in the near future.

TWC wrote the text book on how not to do customer service. They are by far one of the worst companies I have ever HAD to do business with. If you currently have service with Charter you have my condolences.

Hopefully it will get better since Charter is purchasing Time-Warner. Although... why improve something they will have an even bigger monopoly on.
