      I've just started to use SnipeIT and have a question for people already using it.

      I've set-up a few assets and finished setting them up ready to "assign" them to users. But this is the question:-

      Can that user just be a name? or does it need to be a user set-up in SnipeIT?
      For me it would be handier to be just a name and not have to set them up as users within Snipe.

        Never looked honestly. I only use it a for tracking our company assets, and I have been bad about getting everything setup in the first place.

            There are only 4 full time and 2 part time employees. All of them are users in the SnipeIT.

              Interested to see feedback, we were trying to use the CMDB feature of our ticketing system FreshService but found some of the reporting features lacking. One of our other office went and built their own tool that had the basic functionality they wanted but I'm hoping that we find a more widely used solution. There was GLPI being used prior to all this but that is very dated.

                We've decided to just add users as we book things out.
