Victim-Blaming: The act of blaming some ass-hat for their own stupidity.

Example: Thug breaks into house and gets shot and killed, I think the break in victim is at fault for this, leaving their valuable school clothes out and crap, like how the heck else is he supposed to have money for school clothes?

They just wanted to be robbed, cause we're broke and they'z was flaunting it.

Whoever downvoted this did not read the article - this is nearly verbatim from it.

Up-voted because it's the truth... I almost quoted the dead thug's family member...

I think whoever did it probably thought that was your own personal opinion.

Yes, I am going to assume you are armed and here to hurt my family.

This is only news because that family of the thug, thinks they are entitled to compensation somehow.

Actually its way worse than that... It's news because the media thinks they will make money off it. And sadly they will.

I've heard too many people say they would just shoot the person in the knee. That won't fly.

So she should have hunted down his whole family, and killed them all?

That seems like a strange thing to say... She did after all kill the guy she shot...

The robber could turn around and sue you. There was an incident where a guy was breaking into someone's house. He fell down their stairs and got hurt, but sued the owners and won because the stairs weren't up to code.

That's why you hear people say to empty the whole magazine. If you are too precise it looks bad, but firing 10-15 rounds at least looks like you genuinely feared for your life.

In NY it's a fire at will if someone is breaking into your home and you have even the slightest fear for harm to you or your family.

But make certain that they are inside the house when they die, with a knife or some other weapon near by....

Also don't have the body leading away towards the exit... that never ends well....

So, let him sue me. At least I don't have to live with the fact that I took a human life for the rest of my life.

People always say, "In X situation, I would do this" Truth is, in the situation, you never do what you think you would.
