IRS Authentication System for Preventing Hacking Has Been Hacked

In a 2015 breach, the IRS was hacked and many user identities stolen. The IRS then set up a PIN system to secure the people whose identifies were stolen. But the IRS did not bother to secure the PINs but instead put them directly into the system that was already hacked so the hackers just took the PINs as well!

And they have the final say. It's like end users being able to tell you how to run your equipment and giving you a fine if they don't like it.
