My only big worry, is what happens if Comodo switch from a free product to a paid product.
Unless you go something like GPL open source, that will always be a risk. You could say the same thing about any product... what if commercial product went from $10 to $50. Not a negative, just a risk of anything you don't build yourself.

I have still not forgiven LogMein.

Never punish a good vendor for the failings of another vendor. There is no connection between them.
The only way to avoid this is open source. Some open source licenses, like the GPL, protect you as the end user as long as you are dealing with self hosting. If you are dealing with hosted products, there is only market pressure as protection (and sometimes legal means, but rarely.)
LMI also stopped offering a working product. What is left today doesn't even do anything.

Is there really and truly a good, open source RMM available? I'd be curious to know.
That being said, I have installed the RMM agent on one computer. It has chat features, and looks like remote control as well. It has a task manager type tool. I'll post a walkthrough after I get to spend some time with it tonight or tomorrow.

Nope, not that I have ever heard of.

One major caveat right off of the bat..... this lacks support for anything but Windows.
-
Yepp... I was noticing that. Which is fine for me at the moment... oh wait... Ihave 2 linux VMs too, lol.
-
Mac is the killer for us. We've got Linux tools.

For Monitoring stuff, I use Zabbix... That one is by far my favorite. It has agents for just about every platform I can think of (Win,Mac,Linux, *BSD, SNMP), and then some...
It takes care of the Monitoring part, and can be used remotely. It just doesn't do the management bits... But for monitoring, I haven't found one I like more yet. (And I've tried several).

Replying to this because it's the only thread I can find on Comodo One.
My account went dormant due to not using it for months, wanted to test out the product recently so I sent an email to support asking for help with re-activating it.
I immediately received an 11 question survey, when I replied asking why, they said it was needed to collect the data to help.
The questions were:
- What is the total number of devices you manage?
2. Do you have plans to register more devices? 3. How many devices are registered on RMM? 4. When do you plan to register more devices? 5. Do you have any break fix customers? 6. Did you have technical issues registering? 7. Are you involved in security information? 8. Have you registered for the MSP Consortium?https://mspconsortium.com 9. Are you planning to register for the MSP Consortium? 10. Are you an MSP or Enterprise? 11. Are you running RMM along with an existing provider?
Basically, unless you feed them this data, you cannot get support for their free product. They've not received the data from me and I'll be looking at other tools.

For free that does not seem that bad. Don't know how good the product is, but filling out a survey for free support seems okay.

15 minutes after posting this, I get CCed on an email asking for my account to be looked at and re-activated by support, coincidence?

<insert twilight zone music here>
I found an open source one called Monocrat (http://www.monocrat.net/index.html, it is Windows only though)... I haven't tested it or installed it or anything yet... just found it a few minutes ago.

Try saying bloody mary in front of a mirror three times, I hear that a waiter will arrive with a cocktail.
