Why did this get enabled without asking..too much email spam as it is.
Only the default was changed. Check your account settings, you can turn it off, right?
My setting has always been turned off so I have never received emails in the past. I also just checked and the settings are still off.

How do I turn these flipping things off
Boy don't I know it... Inbox is crushed.
-
@JaredBusch emails did not start for me either. I was wondering why some people suddenly saw them.
-
This is fun news! I'd love to check out the ads and see if Waterford can test one or two or more out!
-
Are the ads live? Or am I being a bad member and blocking them?
-
They will be up today. You aren't missing anything yet.
-
They are up now!

Yup and @nic has confirmed that AdBlocker is catching them
-
There they are. Still not a fan of how it offsets the conversation to the left side of the screen but I will get used to it.

Yeah it feels to squashed.

Fixing that might be in the cards. I am assuming that we can do something with CSS to adjust that. We won't look at that till 0.9.0 rolls out, though.

Thanks for looking at it though. Like @Jason mentioned it even with one ad it does feel a bit squashed.

Woot! Turned off my adblocker for ML and they showed up.

Sadly they aren't hosted on a ad site so ad block plus don't work.

Some adblocking does work. Maybe not all. I have no idea how some detect it as an ad since it is all hosted inside the application.
It could be using algorithms, like looking for the "sponsored by" text, or comparing the image against a database of other ads.

It looks like an ad form factor, has ad location placement and links to another site. Wouldn't take much to guess. I wonder if it blocks if it doesn't link anywhere?
