Awesome, I hope the model works for them, and other cities try it too.

They aren't the first. One in Washington did it a decade ago. And Iceland did, if course.

This is my list of qualifications I have in interest and what I would like to achieve,

    VCA-DCV = DONE
    VCA-CLOUD =
    VCA-WM =
VCP-DCV = Currently studying for this.
    VSP5 = DONE
    CCA-V =
    CCA - N =
MCSE = This will be last as its 5 exams.

After these qualifications, I'll probably do something more specialised like a VCAP if I can, or project management or something else. Not sure yet. Anyone else have lists or others?

@StrongBad I've used an android tablet for it and they run very well, but on the Shield I would imagine it runs even better. I know Half Life 2 is quite impressive on it.

all i know is that i stayed with the 2 year contract plan on verizon and here is why.

Cheaper, we each have 2 gigs of data (all that we need) and only pay $60 per month We both went with a customized Moto X and payed just $0.01 for the phone.

If we went with the Verizon Edge plan, the phones would have cost $16.66 / month x 24 months is $399.84 per phone x $130 per month in voice/data with 4 gigs = $3919.68
If we went with the Verizion More everything plan it costs $.01 per phone upfront x $150 per month in voice/data with 4 gigs = $3600

So not only did i save up front on the cost of the phone i am saving $319.68 over the two years.

You get ripped off when using the next/edge plans and you are still under a contract no matter which way you go unless you purchase the device outright.

    edit:
If we went with the Verizon Edge plan, the phones would have cost $16.66 / month x 24 months is $399.84 per phone x $130 per month in voice/data with 10 gigs = $3919.68
If we went with the Verizion More everything plan it costs $.01 per phone upfront x $180 per month in voice/data with 10 gigs = $4320

So in this case with 10 gigs of data it is cheaper to go the Edge route where you will save $400.32 over 24 months. With higher data usage the price goes down for Edge and up for More Everything.

I moved off of verizon after keeping the same account for 21 years. Saved a fortune leaving. They really burned me a lot to get me to leave. Very glad that I did.

Bummer! Did you do a reset after the last update? I've found that really helps battery issues.

What features are different in the Moto X that you want?

@IRJ gotcha...the issue is PUP, potentially unwanted programs. Basically from what I have read, to prevent being sued PUPs are come up in the list for you to remove but are not pre-checked because you might have actually wanted conduit or some other crap on your PC. And Pro actually finds this stuff in real time, preventing you from having to check off 300 boxes later.

For any semblance of keeping data from the NSA you need to air gap your data from US soil and US staff. You need to ensure that no American can be pressured to hack and steal data out of the country it is in. That's a starting point.

The NSA are agents if some foreign power, I swear, with a mandate to force big business out of the US. The NSA are one of the greatest threats our generation will face. Openly foreign agents have no means to be as damaging to the American people as these guys.
