Wonder why they went away from the POE/POE+ standard. Are you stuck using their poe injectors and switches or are there other vendors that use this standard?

RE: reasons to have a local DC in a remote office?
Agree in that situation there is no reason to have a local DC.
I use local DC's in remote sites mostly when the connections are very slow ie.. i have one that has 400+ms latency to the HQ.

RE: Concept: Automate License Acquisition
@stacksofplates Oh cool I assume that is all automated? The snapshot and then the review at 6 months?

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
The website just refused to load for me. Gave me a nodeBB error, not CF.

From my understanding FlexLM only handles managing floating licenses, it doesn't actually automatically purchase licenses.
But with a true up you could.
Not sure i follow.
I have several floating licensing servers and none provide any automatic purchasing feature.

Im sure the vendors rather get the sales upfront

@scottalanmiller Makes sense. Also could have multiple vendors in case one fails.

RE: Concept: Automate License Acquisition
Interesting, what i could see happening is this is setup and then many months down the line credentials have changed and the auto acquisition fails. Then does it prevent the failover from occurring or do it continue after a set timeout and cause you to be not compliant on the licenses.

RE: To Password Protect a network folder or not
I actually asked where did you get this idea to password protect a folder. The times that i encounter this its always from non-technical end users who are used to password protecting office documents.

RE: To Password Protect a network folder or not
For some reason users love to try and put passwords on everything.. If only they could remember them...

RE: To Password Protect a network folder or not
I had this come up previously. I secured it with standard folder permissions. The user logging into their computer is the "password protection".
