Ah...that might explain your comment. About 4 months ago one of my clients OWA was from Comcast and it didn't look the same, so I presume they weren't using 2013 Exchange.

I'm used to traders having setups like that, up to nine monitors. It's cool and I can see scenarios where that would work well. I rarely do live monitoring, though, which is perfect for lots of monitors. For the type of work that I do, two to three seem to be ideal. You have to balance real estate, context switching (human optical) and task separation to find what is optimal for your use cases.
Yeah I can see that...see that...lol. Seriously, I have even consider desktop switching. I really only thought of an extra monitor to keep my Marketing/web dev work separate from my other Tech work.
I prefer to completely change the desktop rather than looking to another monitor for that.
Which Windows program would you recommend?

RE: How did you get started in IT?
It all started while I was working as an automotive technician. My wife and I bought a used Packard Bell (http://www.qvc.com/Packard-Bell-Multimedia-C110-120MHz-Pentium.product.E45731.html). We "upgraded" it to 32MB RAM, 8GB HD and 56k US Robitics modem. I tossed out the PB Windows media disk with BLOAT ware (only 250MB was left) for a bootleg W95b disk. Built my next PC with Cyrix processor and W98.
Became friends with an IT tech who used to call me Captain Clicky. He would hand out OSes and programs like they were candy. I was running W2k instead of W98 or WME and had Office with Viso! By the time I started my first IT job, I was already using XP which was the "new kid" on the block. That IT job was actually supposed to be a sales and pick up pc's for the tech. Slowly I became the tech who was in sales and also started selling website design for the company. That is how my wife started doing web design for a living. Been doing it ever since.
First there was Google, then there was Expert Exchange (till they wanted money), LinkedIn groups, SW and now ML!!

RE: Best AV Ever
I hear this all the time:
Customer: I didn't click on anything, I don't know how that got installed.
Me: Yes, but program A is on your PC.
Customer: Oh, yeah...I installed that! They say proudly, all smiles and such.
Me: Yeah and did you uncheck the boxes that said we are going to install these other programs?
Customer: I don't think there was anything like that.Yeahhhh....

Perhaps I misunderstood the OP, but have you seen this, http://www.bluestacks.com/? I have this running on my laptop.

RE: HTML code help
Too true and although there are many MS things along the way I have liked, most of what you mentioned was wasted time on programming much like Office Accounting. MS giveth and MS taketh away. Look for my upcoming RANTs on MS OneNote and Outlook 365.

The info is odd. Helps better define "browser issues". In this case it is more clearly seen as architectural decisions made earlier in the software development process.
Meanwhile, "Why can they all just get along?"
=:-oCuz everyone wants to show off their new shiny toys and ideas first. HOWEVER I will say that IE is the worst offender. It's like they have never seen the W3C information.

@technobabble I had never heard of your hosted repair shop CRM before. An interesting product. Might be perfect for your business model. Very cool.
I started using that and WHMCS in October and haven't looked back. RepairShopr also has been updating their product almost monthly adding user requested features and they have fantastic tech support!
They would be a good company to have representation in a community like this.
Consider RepairShopr invited.

RE: Standing Desks

I am jealous i only have 1 Monitor
I can't imagine only working on one monitor.
I have had two monitors for so long I have been saying for a year I need a third!
Over the last 4 years I have turned my business clients into multi monitor users!
I had three but went down to two and didn't really notice. The jump from one to two is huge, but from two to three I didn't find so useful.
Maybe that's because the real sweet spot is bolded text4!

RE: Any Service Providers Using a CRM
Our company deals with residential and small business clients. Definition of small business in my world: "one man shops, mom & pops, and businesses that have no server and usually less that 15 workers"
I used to use Business Contact Manager for Office (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/what-is-business-contact-manager-for-outlook-HP010262568.aspx) for many years. Of course I also ran my shop on Office Accounting 2007 software (after demoing the 2006 release).
Now I use I use RepairShopr for my tech CRM and WHMCS for my marketing/web design CRM along with ZenDesk.

RE: Your Home, Mobile / Tablet Platform and Configurations
My home office: Dual monitor setup with old HP rig (Q6660, 8GB, SSD) running W8.1. Crucial SSD died last Saturday after 6+ months of running. Running off a spare HP PC that was my data backup machine.

Since last week I have been testing if one can be productive by living in the cloud only without any desktop apps. I will be reporting the shortcomings I have found.
Favorite desktop apps: Office 2013, Google Music Manger (my music is cloudy baby!), Notebook++, WinSCP. I have a love hate relationship with OneNote and Evernote.
Cloudy apps I love: RepairShopr, Wave, Office 365, ZenDesk, WHMCS, InfiniteWP.
Going to build or buy a new rig and want to get a touch screen monitor.
