@Nic said in Sophos or WebRoot Cloud Endpoint Advanced - Any Thoughts???:

@BRRABill Webroot is no longer using the Sophos engine. They acquired Prevx and rebuilt everything around that about 6 years back. Also I'm already at my new gig so you can page @JoshP_Webroot for any Webroot questions from here on out.

I'm guessing 6 years ago is when Webroot became the product it is today, and why I love it so much!

Yeah Webroot scrapped all their existing traditional AV and rebuilt a new product around the Prevx technology. They also added in the brightcloud.com tech and became the product we know today.

Paypal is down as is http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ ironically - not sure if it's part of the original ddos or just too many people are trying to see if websites are down.

And how would Telsa be able to tell, and more importantly how could they enforce / make such a restriction?

What do you mean? What is there to question? It's in the EULA.

That's not going to survive the lawsuit

If it doesn't, it will totally undermine all EULAs. Every software company like Apple, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, etc. has EULAs and entire business models that depend on that having been legally tested. Tesla's software is no different than those. You can use the physical car for ride sharing, just not the special case driving software that you have to agree to the EULA to use.

      I guarantee it'll survive.

No, what will happen is that Tesla will back down and remove that provision once they realize that they don't want to take it to trial and invalidate all EULAs. That's what I'm betting on 🙂

So @Nic do you get an employee discount on the weed?

Well the company I'm working for doesn't grow weed itself, they just fund this community. But I'm sure I'll get some samples from some of the community members 🙂

Yeah the loss leaders work, otherwise they wouldn't do them 🙂

I got one like this a little over a year ago.

Yeah every so often Amazon or NewEgg will have some crazy cheap prices. I'm assuming they're offering them as loss leaders and they're not making any money on the deals (or indeed losing money in the hopes that you'll buy other stuff while you're on the site). They set those prices themselves though, so we don't have a hand in it.

I haven't seen any deals that low in a while. The lowest was on Amazon with a 1-device license going for $5, but that's over now.

Also, welcome to the blah blah blah.... 😉

Josh does have some technicolor hair that changes often. He also wears lots of cool nerd-themed baseball caps.

Deadly Tower of Monsters is quite fun.

Glad I bought it then 🙂

It's an isometric shooter, but the fun part is the 50s B-movie conceit along with narration by the "director" of the movie that you're playing.

Their HQ is in Spokane? That's only 2 hours south of where I grew up in Idaho.

That's cool you get to work from home. What are you going to be doing that warrant's being able to do that?

That's just where the business is registered, for legal reasons. The parent company is actually in Tucson, AZ, so I'll be making some regular trips out there. Since it's an online community for cannabis professionals, I'll be building and growing the community - basically all the same stuff I've done elsewhere 🙂
