I found this program that will convert doc files to docx, then to pdf. Even works on the pw protected files, it just pops up a pw prompt. So i let it run and every few minutes check to see if i have to enter teh pw in. all the pw for the docs are the same and it was put there to make it harder to mess up the doc. Some of these docs are 20 years old.

The FCC still doesn't know what the internet is, and fundamentally has no hope of understanding it before Thursday's vote.
Quite frankly, i dont think a single person in Congress or working for the Executive Branch--at any level--knows what the internet is or how it works. They are all lawyers and real estate people or financial advisers, literally know-nothing jobs for know-nothing people.

RE: Last chance for a free Windows 10 upgrade
Well, im pretty sure the upgrade process runs their mrt.exe at some point. I think i ran MalwareBytes beforehand. Also, it is not my computer or a work computer so no i really dont care.
I told them that too, and theyre ok with it. I would have told them to get a new laptop, but this one has an old core2 duo and 6GB RAM so still very useable. -

@Dashrender How did you post a clip from a movie that doesn't exist?

This is what piques my curiosity about the whole issue. From my perspective as a consumer my access has been unchanged / unaffected for the last 10 years, let alone the last two. I understand the concept of Title II classification and the theoretical effects of today decision, but I'm curious what the "real" effects were when the regulation happened and what the "real" effects will be with the regulation being lifted.
Your statement that you are unaffected is untrue.
You may not have noticed, but you were. Comcast throttling netflix is the most obvious example. Here is a couple of questions that solves the issue for all
Is your electric company and water utility allowed to tell you what sorts of electronic devices or cups you can use? Do they restrict you to only using Sony or Denon a/v receivers?
Does your water company only give you water if you have a kohler faucet? The answer is obviously no. Why should your isp be able to do things like this? Even ifyou are right and they havent(but they have), they will now.

RE: Domain Logon Issues
@wirestyle22
Ok, you need to get on your DCs and look at the DNS. I bet that in your dns under Forward lookup zones for at least one of the DC is listed that non existent domain. Further i think that within that non existent dns domain is listed the pcs which are not available for logon. -

RE: Reset local domain 'administrator' password to restore system state to migrated vm
Are you sure? I think the account id is still 500 for administrator(this is the RID on the nt offline pw tool), and it should still use the C:\Windows\System32\config\SAM to store it.
You could try it without risk i think

@coliver True. But now they are doing things like gravity wave detection.
The possibilities with that are akin to the discovery and manipulation of radio waves 100 years ago; knowledge that fundamentally transformed humanity.
