Has a 500GB SATA that I believe is 7200RPM but not sure. Has a data drive that's a 250GB. I don't believe that's an SSD and it's not being used at all. I thought about an I/O issue but haven't had a chance to benchmark it yet. Machine is only two years old. Could it be a 5400RPM? Possibly. I doubt it though. But I can't give you a definitive answer at this point. The inventory doesn't show the specs on the drive so I'll have to get back to you.

I looked at the BIOS version and it's on A13. Dell's website gives the latest as A17. I looked through each of the newer versions (A14, 15, 16 and 17) and the only thing that would even be remotely relevant is there is an enhancement of optimize high I/O performance in the setup menu of Dell. So I will flash the BIOS tomorrow and see if that helps but based on the release notes I don't see that being the solution.

The wind is calming down here. Though it took @art_of_shred almost an hour to snow blow our driveway.

I am looking for a 3rd party free installer and updater for my onsite technicians. I know some of them like Ninite but as the free version isn’t for Enterprise use, it’s not a good fit for client sites. What do you like to use?

This really will be a great option for a lot of people.

I will have my Mac Minion take a look then to see why it's not just working.

I was very happy to go back to my IPhone after a test of Windows Phones I tried 2 and had some of the same issues on both. The IPhone is just reliable no question there

You can install Chrome on the Mac side of things but that is very slow...

Youtube has an app but it is flaky, Netflix nope gotta watch that on the windows side. When you are stuck in a hotel room in little China in NYC you are not venturing out on your own much after dark gotta have something to do

From the business side of things I recently went with a Mac due to price point (I got the older model of a MacBook Pro at a very awesome price). I have to say I am enjoying getting to know it and work on it. For everything I do on the business side of things it works great day to day now to be fair a good portion of what I do is cloud based. In the process I have learned how to do some things on it and have been able to help a couple customers out with some very basic things.

Now I will also admit I installed Parallels on it as well and that works great and allows me my window 8.1 environment on it while traveling, which admittedly I use for watching youtube, outlook calendaring and watching Netflix

Time to get started for the day here.

Yes I can go one better than having to plug my phone in to use it like a flashdrive. Between my Onedrive and my Clouddrive I don't have to even do that I just open that up on my desktop and my files are there.

Yeah pizza in Dallas isn't good however there is a street vendor in Austin that has AWESOME NYC style pizza

Yup picking things early and letting them ripen off the vine/tree/whatever just doesn't taste as good as fresh. Pineapple, bannanas avacados, mango guava all better in Africa

After living in a tropical country I have to say I hate eating fruit here now. Nothing tastes even close to what it tastes like when you go pick it off a tree in your yard. Mangos are awesome in Africa here not so much... blah tasting (not that they are bad just not as good).

From what I have seen Android if you want to have a toy but for serious business IPhone is the way to go. I like the idea of the windows phone but the technology just doesn't work reliably yet.
