I watch it every night starting around 5:15pm when I get home until 9PM with no issues. Wouldn't be surprised if it's ISP Peering issues not SlingTV themselves.
Then Sling should take care of that. Netfix had these peering issues, but they were able to work these out.

The values are probably individual people. And it doesn't matter if it's 5 people or 5 thousand, if you're one of the people having issues.
@Jason AMC or Epix channels in the evening would hardly ever load for me. And I also watched it Roku, FireTV stick, iPad and iMac. It made no difference. And customer support was clueless, all they did was to give me a ticket number, no resolution, no compensation, nothing. In the end I switched to PS Vue.

SlingTV sucks. Badly. I was a customer for 3 months, daily outages, poor picture quality, channels wouldn't load even if there was no outage. I would never recommend it to anybody, unless it was completely free.

Still not truely seeing a good DAS thunderbolt unit. The Drobo 5D is a good contender. Alot of bad reviews; but appears to be from folks using it with Windows system with USB3.0. reviews for device connected over thunderbolt appear to be positive.
Unsure about their Hybrid Raid (RAID-6) setup though.
Any storage connected with USB - doesn't matter which version - is just a disappointment, and it's not restricted to Drobo.
Use SSD caching and stop worrying about RAID levels (as long as it's not RAID 5).

NFS on OS X has its own quirks and is not as reliable as on other Unix systems. And you can forget about Spotlight searches without the use of OS X Server.

I would consider Thunderbolt DAS enclosure instead of SAN. Less complexity, much faster, and probably much cheaper too.

Because it's faster, cheaper and more reliable. And with DRBD or Starwind all local storage is in sync, so if one server node goes down, your storage and remaining servers are still up. If your centralised NAS or SAN goes down, all server nodes are down.

I have 2 of these, one at home, one at work. It's a bit loud when in use, but it gets the job done better than anything I've used before.
I've used air compressors that guys at the shop floor use to clean CNC machines and parts, but these tended to blow away (literally) fan blades.
