Team, I have a network running behind a Watchguard Firewall.
I'm have installed Pertino (a cloud based software VPN) on our FileServer with the aim for external client laptops to access files from outside to the office. However, I believe the Watchguard is blocking Pertino's connection and it cant authenticate to the pertino server.
My Q is: does anyone know how I can allow the application through our Watchguard?
Yes I believe so. We'll migrate onto File Stream but at present, they all have Google Drive installed on their computers. The admin initially gave everyone access to the 'Company Drive' folder but from there individuals added sub folders and shared out internally and externally. It looks messy so I want to find a way to capture reports for all folders and their permissions.
HI all.
I was wondering if there is a way I can establish which users have permissions on each folder within a Google Drive business platform?
We've just started working with a company who have 50users on Google Apps (half of which are old users) and our first plan is to tidy it up and figure out permissions on each folder.
Does anyone have any tools/apps/advice on how I generate a good report/account on what files/folders are shared to which users? It would be good to present this in CSV format.

Hi All, I have a couple of techys on site at a client.
How can I give them rights to install things on their computer? They are domain users at present but I want them to be able to allow them to install software without being prompted for the admin password? Thanks
Okay so am I right in saying its best to use DFS to replicate/sync file shares across multiple servers? And hyper-v replica to replicate the entire VM's to another server?
If we utilize Hype-V replica, will that also replicate the contents within the VM (ie. AD, file shares, permisisons etc) so it'll be like for like at the additional site?

Wonder if anyone can shed some light on what solution is 'better ' or 'preferred' between Hyper V replica and DFS replication.
We have a server running hyper v and a couple of VMs (one DC and one Application and file server).
We were initally thinking of using DFS replication for the data (to a secondary offsite server). However I wasn't sure if I should just do a hyper v replication as this as far as I know would replicate the entire server (apps and data) to our secondary site.
Note the secondary site is AWS.
What's your thoughts on the Hyper V replica VS DFS replication?

So I can create the VM's no problem.
But i'm not so clear on how I give the VMs a C:\ drive from part of the R1 Volume. I think i'm over confusing myself how to get it done best way

I need to assistance please with partitioning a HyperV server and some VMs
Baseline: We have 2x 1TB drives in R1 config and then 4x2TB drives in R10 config
I've been asked to setup the HyperV host (which i've installed on the R1) and C drive is shown 1TB space at present.
I'd like to add a secondary 100GB syslog drive (separate to C drive).
Second to that, I'd like to have a VM (Domain Controller) with 300GB for the C:\ (taken from R1 drive) and then a 2TB Data drive (from R10 drives).
Id then like to have a 2nd blank VM with 1x 50GB primary partition taken from R1 space and then a second data drive with the other 2TB (from R10)
Can someone please let me know the steps to do this? I'm a bit rusty on this.

So all is now working guys.....I realised I kept applying GPO's again and again, deleting them and re-applying the same things to get it to work. Where I should have taken a step back and instead of re-creating and re-applying I should have modified the GPO to remove the existing configuration - applied it so it was all clear and then re-applied if that makes sense.

I created a new OU and put the users I want it to apply to within there. The policy is linked to that OU.
Im happy if they are clever enough to know they can browse to the drive but i just don't want them to see the drive at first glance.
Guys, can you help? I am trying to hide my data E drive on the server. I'm sure I have the GPO correctly configured, however its not working OR more just not updating. If I do a gpupdate /force - should that not automatically force it? I have tried logging in and out and even restarting the server but it seems to not want to kick in. I have other GP's on the same OU which kick in straight away when I make changes but its not hiding the drives so wondered if anyone can help shed light?

As a test, create a logon script for the user that the Excel remote app is running as and make that script map a drive X: (assuming not use) to the desired share.. then you should see X: inside Excel and you should see the results you want.

Do you think I could setup a group policy to restrict users to local drives (I dont want them seeing the C drive either I guess) and then map the drive

Yes, it is 100% visible. I've even logged onto the server via RDP and can see the folder there. However, it ISNT there when I browse to \Server\Shared. Of course I dont want to see the folder in any case as I dont have permission to it! I only want to see the folders I do have access to!

OHH and you need to be looking through the share connection, not through the folder structure on the server itself (made that mistake before too).
The folder structure will also ways show you (well, almost always).
THATS WHERE THE PROBLEM IS!!! if ii browse to \SERVER\Shared I can only see the folder I want!
However, i'm actually using a remote app (excel) and when I go to File>Open>E:\Shared, I can see the folder!
