Hi All I have this error when our clients are trying to connect to a remote app.
Its a server 2012 r2 environment and clients can conenct to the server via broswer. ie. https://servername/rdweb
However when they login and download their remote app, they get this error
Please HELP!

HELP! Our VM server is rebooting every 10mins.
It seems to be due to the below. I have uninstalled the Micsoft ASP.net MVC2 from control panel but still problems persists! Any idea what i can do?

169.x.x.x shouts out that the VM cant reach a DHCP server. If the vSwitch is using the active interface, and allows guest VMs to share the adapter, i'd check if my DHCP server is ok, on the same network, has IPs available etc. The host would be static so thats why that would be working as it was manually configured.
Should have thought! A reboot of my router fixed it! Thanks guys.

So, I've built a HyperV server 2016 and have provisioned two VMS. All great so far, however I have a problem getting internet access to the VMs.
Our HV host has internet access - all okay.
I created a Hyper V Switch (external network), and then ensured the VM's virtual adapter is connected to the switch. However we get a 169. IP.
On the host itself, if I enter SConfig and go to Network settings, I see two adapters (1 is the local NIC which has a valid IP), the other is my Hyper V Virtual Ethernet adapter with a 169. IP.
I have tried giving it a Static but it still wont work!

One prob I ran into last time was when I wanted to install Server 2016 on my guest VM. I had the CD Rom connected to my host, but I couldnt find where to load it to boot the VM from it.
I'd like to use a Gen2 server and i'm unsure how to get either a) to boot from the physical DVD connected to my host, or b) load an ISO to the host (ie in the D drive) to then boot from there. Any ideas on that?

I'd like to add a couple VM's but want to store the VDHX's on a 'D' drive (which isnt currently showing). When I built the server, I put 4 disks in OBR10 and then created a 100GB partition for the HyperVServer. I have 1.5TB free which i'd like to assign the 'D' drive. How can I connect to do this?I have tried to open Computer Management and connect to the Hypervisor but due to other firewall rules it tells me it cannot be managed.
Any help again on this? I know there's been some info above but it seems so scattered and one 'guide' steps would be useful if possible?

They want to be able to work inside and outside the office and access all the same resources, have all group policies working etc regardless of where they are. In this scenario would the hybrid be best option then? eg. install ZT on my DC and FS, then change DNS to point to ZT IP's and then install ZT on all laptops?I'm looking for the best way to do this. Its a small network so if i have to edit host files on laptops i can but what do you think is best way to have everything running with full access regardless of where users are.
This tells us that you don't want AD at all.

No, I do want AD....I wasnt users to authenticate to a local server. 80% of the time, they will be in the office, but then the 20% will be outside the office. But whilst outside I want them to log in and access the servers resources and sync folders back to the local server. I guess i'm looking for the most efficient way of doing this hybrid scenario.

I had this issue with a small office network but Polycom phones. I upgraded all firmware on the switches and router, rebooted everything to no prevail. It only started working when I factory re-set the main router and re-deployed from scratch! so strange!
Guys can you please shed some light and see if this is possible....
So, we have a client with a Domain Controller and FileServer (\fs01) on site.
There are some GPO's setup to push mapped drives to the computers and we have folder re-direction setup for desktop and documents.
Some users work from laptops and when they are in the office, of course can connect to resources and contact the DC and the GPO's push down and apply correctly.
However, when outside of the office, when the use their laptops (also domain joined) it wont map the drives.
It does however show the desktop/document items and is working in an offline version.
I was hoping I could install ZeroTier VPN and be able to get those GPO's applied so users can simply use their laptops in the same way those on desktops do.ie with group policies working and always mapping drives.
However, having tested this and installed ZT, whilst i can browse to the File server by going to \fs01 its not showing all the shares (it does show the redirected folder share though) but not those we map drives to.
If I browse to the zerotier IP address i can then see the shares but I dont want to map the drives using the ZT IP - I just want them to map automatically using the internal IP.
Any ideas how i do this? Is this possible? Or do i just need to map the drives using the ZT IP address? But if I do that, when they take the laptops into the office, they will be using the ZT IP and not the internal lan ip of the FS!

So our needs are relatively small. Small office network (10 users).
The sometimes hot desk and swap places and would like their desktop/docs/favourites/outlook to move across. I'd like to find the simplest solution for this and think a folder redirection will do the trick - they do have a windows 2012 server on site.
So I read Roaming profiles are more of a headache than its worth and it's more beneficial to use Folder Redirection (desktop, docs and appdata). Would you agree Folder re-direction is best and if so, has anyone got a nice guide on how to configure this on Windows Server 2012/16?

This server build is frustrating...I managed to get the HyperV server installed and able to connect to it via Hyper-V Manager. However when trying to boot the Guest VM via my CDRom (WindowsServer2016)m it tells me the BIOS was locked and the OS was tied to vendor. Note: I was using the original CD that I got shipped with the server!!!
I then tried burning an ISO (generic) to USB but was unable to mount and boot from it as the HyperV Manager couldnt see the USB plugged into the Host! I read about making it 'offline' first but when attempting that, it turns out i couldnt make removable media offline!!
This thing is a nightmare!
Thinking of packing in Hyper-V!
