We are using Ubiquiti AF5's to connect two of our sites together. Because these sites do not have line of sight between them, we are leasing roofspace off a neighboring building and using it as a "repeat" site.

We've recently started having trouble with the link, and I'm working on troubleshooting it. I'm not sure where the problem lies, but my suspicion is that it may be the switch we have at the repeat site.

Can anyone think of a reason why I couldn't just eliminate the switch and conenct the two radios together directly? I'd use a crossover cable if they're not auto sensing.

      Thoughts?

No reason that your should not be able to just connect them. TCP/IP does not care about a switch.

We always did this. No reason to have a switch. However a PDU for reboots can be handy.

Your numbers may be correct for Open License, but I am on a Select 6.

That must be some education/government thing. I've heard the O365 pricing is lower, so that's good for you, all the more reason to go to it when possible. But I can understand if it's not.

There are many different levels of agreements and they aren't based on being education or government any plan besides open will be cheaper, and the higher you go up the cheaper it is.

Doesn't this also mean that anyone could hack anyone, if it's legal, no expection of privacy and the government isn't using any special process to get to it then.

so a Citizen can also hack another citizen
and a Citizen can hack the government all legally.

There is no clarification what exactly they are seeking for.

      • To manage our social media and website info. – Marketing and content writer tasks
      • Web development maintenance experience – Developer task

      Unqualified and mislead job posting!

Don't think it's even web development. It's Content creation (aka Marketing) adding content to the site. There's no web2.0 or anything going on with them.

My boss will never approve a expense to a person. How does he know I am not splitting the money with @Minion-Queen, and take taking a couple of paided days off lol

No TAX ID would be a no go for us. It's required for financial audits

Eh? You require a tax ID from anyone you buy something from on Ebay? or you just don't buy one? Do you have Amazon's tax ID also? I'm guessing it's published somewhere?

You ask for it. We have to have forms from anyone we buy from. We don't buy from ebay. Amazon's and many other big companies post their Tax ID, now if you are buying from random sellers on amazon most of them aren't even companies. Most companies meant to sell to big bussiness have their W9's posted on their websites. This is a requirement for being a publicly traded company. for example you can find SHI's here: https://www.shi.com/CustomerServices/Admin/Download.aspx?ID=87490&Name=8a9580a9-9499-4331-9afd-a7c1b3d1982b

The only digital downloads I aware of are the VLSC licenses.

Otherwise the trial download might let you enter a real key and activate. I'm pretty sure it will. You would want to stand up a trial and then be force to scrap it if you decides to keep it, bit I suppose stranger things have happened.

Eval can be activated, even with MAK keys (and at any time you wish)

Eval can be converted to accept VL keys. It will not activate on one natively.

Edit: I thought I posted here when I did it, but i cannot find it

Maybe I'm missing something, but I had no issues using VL keys on "vanilla" eval installations since Win7/2008R2.

The GUI won't accept the key. You have to use DISM to set the product edition since eval is not a regular one. And the you can use DISM to activate the key.

Does anyone know if I pay for a higher level of support, will I get better support? Maybe talk to someone in the United States?

Doubtful that you'd get a native English speaking person just because you're paying for a higher tier of support. Usually this doesn't happen until you're at tiers 3 or above of the tech queue.

We get 2 Hr support and people in the US. It can be as little as 30min depending on the serverity

Also this likely isn't a VMware issue.
