I don't mind Orlando. I've been there 8 times in the past 4 years, mostly for touristy stuff. I love how inexpensive hotels are in comparison to say Chicago.

Its alot like Vegas, the tourism industry mandates that hotels and flights to Orlando are cheaper. Disney and other theme parks secretly own many of the hotels.

If your family likes to bird watch and or kayak. I recommend the Ulumay Wildlife Sanctuary. We get all sorts of species of birds there from different places of the world. You can kayak or hike it. You can also climb up the observatory towers. If you like fishing, there are plenty of places to fish along the trail.

I fish there all the time, Its only 5 minutes from where I live. The fishing is pretty good.

I'm going to Orlando.. no beaches to speak of there.

First of all, I am sorry. I grew up there and would recommend that place to no one.

That being said, you are only an hour away from where I live which is directly east of Orlando. If you go to Cocoa Beach or Cape Canaveral it will be so crowded. Cherie Down Park is in between the two. Only the locals know about it. Its the same beach just less crowded and kind of hidden off the main roads.

    • RE: Kiting someone along after an interview

      RAM,

I left a stable government IT job and started to work for an MSP that really worked themselves up to be something they werent. I moved and everything to start the job. The first week I was thee they had me recycle computer components and UPS batteries and the Second week I sat on a PC waiting for a client to call. Sometime in the 3rd week they laid me off. I was insulted, and I was extremely pissed off. They knew they pulled me away from a stable job and laid me off in 3 weeks. I then started doing contract work. Alot of my friends did this, but It was never something I had done. I really hated it. No employer was the same. IT department skill levels varied.

About a year later, I was getting desperate to get an employee job for a company. I paid to have my resume professionally done. I started applying at jobs with my new Resume and got offered interviews like crazy. In a week, I did 4 interviews and 3 of the employers gave me a job offer. I was able to pick my place of employment and now I couldnt be more happy.

Everyone who is working for a great employer, put their time in with the shitty ones. I see it on Spicworks all the time, IT professionals posting about their backwards IT dept. and employers. That was me. No appreciation by co-workers and superiors. Set your sights high, and dont stop until you get what you want. There are good employers out there and you are a good employee. One day soon, you will find the right fit.

      Yeah . its nice:)

      Are those mangrove trees?

      Yes 🙂

I have never seen them grow along a beach here because its too rough. We have plenty of them in the Lagoons, Bays and other intracoastal waterways.

That is, by far, the smarter summer choice. Where in NY are you going?

Utica/Rome. I have family in Utica and my girlfriend has family in Rome. Oddly enough we met in Florida not NY.

Seriously? You know @dominica is from Utica! We are there every few weeks!

I didnt know that, but yeah its a small world. I cant believe my girlfriend and I have relatives that live right next to each other.

    • RE: Uninstall WinZip push, set Windows Explorer as the default zip client.

It has been used to create most zip files. 7Zip and Windows Explorer can open password protected files without an issue, though.

    • RE: And the XP exploiting begins

I wonder how Microsoft handles IE security updates for the few entities that paid to stay on Windows XP Support. Do you think they just create a version of IE10 or IE11 that can install on Windows XP?

    • Uninstall WinZip push, set Windows Explorer as the default zip client.

When out PCs were imaged Winzip Trial edition was installed on all PCs. We have dealt with this for a while since Winzip is so nice and just makes you wait a few seconds before starting use of the evaluation version. Now PCs are having to wait up to 500 days (5-10 seconds) before they can launch WinZip.

I created a ticket to uninstall winzip on all the PCs and a couple people in IT voiced their concerns with it. I know using Windows Explorer will work just fine, but they are uneasy about it. That is why I want to make the change as seemlessly as possible. So good, its almost a secret.

Last week, @Nic helped me work with a Malware Problem on our network. He gave sent me a trial key to try to remove the Malware. Sophos ended up resolving it, but I was so impressed with the AV client. I decided to purchase Webroot SecureAnywher Internet Security Complete for my Home PCs and Smart Devices. I am very happy with the Optimizer and other features included with the suite. I cant believe how blazing fast System Scans are. Its really impressive.

Which Mail App are they using?

Windows Mail App and its me using it. I use it 100 times a day, maybe more. This is happened to me 3 times and I think it was related to the mail app each time. I tried to kill it in task manager, but the didnt fix the problem. The mail app works fine, I just lose the ability to click the minimize or red X as well as losing the Charm Bar.
