    • RE: Beelink PC issues

@Dashrender bummer man, i've installed 10 of the Kamrui i5/16gb/512m2 PCs this month and had 1 issue. but they were quick to replace. I did, however, purchase the assurion 3 year JIC.

@notverypunny well not near all of it is actual text. it's a lot of computer images etc. Really i just need the OCR Full Text Search to work so we can dig through the readable data.

Pretty large scale Tessaract, OCR, Indexing, Full Text searching issue that is out of my realm.

Is Windows Server File Indexing an option? If so, what about OCR en masse?

Also, lots of PDFs here. so will have to OCR as well. If we have a Linux Guru on here that has some time to help out i'm sure Nextcloud can do it. Im just not able.

    • Massive Searchable Document/File Repository

The short of it is this. I have 30ish TB of data. Lots of it is irrelevant. But What i'm needing is essentially to be able to search within the text/office/pdf/files. Anything that is textual I need to be able to search (globally).

Trying Nextcloud, but i'm not intelligent enough to make it work. Anyone have experience with such an endeavor ?

    • SBS 2011 to 2016 Std DC Issue

      Hey now,

I've got a 2016 server I've stood up in a sbs2011 domain, added it as a DC, moved all FSMO roles to the new server since the goal is to murder the sbs2011 machine, verified replication is healthy, migrated exchange to o365. Here's where the fun starts.....

In order to test the server, I've shut down the SBS2011 box and reboot a domain joined computer, and hope that hey.... it's gonna use the new DC as the logon server... nope. any ideas what I'm lacking here folks?

    • RE: Virtualization Redemption?

@scottalanmiller Scott you dont live in the real world bud. I've got two servers on site, and one colo'd, hyper-v replication to the colo'd server. on site altaro VM backups, on site Data backups, AND Code42 HIPAA off site data backups.... the customer is fine. Their data is fine. I dont even know what we're talking about, but your responses usually just get me keyed up. HEY NOW
