      Wondering.
If you had a new customer with a greenfield and your doing the network and wifi.
Would it all be Ubiquiti stuff? Or a mix.

      Example 5 buildings/cabin,
      80 PC/Laptops
      4-5 Servers running 40-45 VM's

Multi core fibre to 2 buildings then only a single cat6 cable for the others.

You need to realize who you are talking to.

@IRJ is probably the most skilled security person on the community.

Just checking is that sarcasm or the truth

If I get the Cisco gear changed, prior to me changing the servers, PCs, printers etc to /24 will everything remain working??

For example, If I get the Cisco gear changed to /24 on weekend 1, will everything still communicate & work fine until I can change the other gear on weekend 2??

I know the subnets are different, but with all devices having 10.0.0.x addresses I'm thinking they still may be seen by the /24 devices????

      Does that make sense?

      From what i remember
no they won't talk to each other once they are on a /24
      e.g. 10.0.1.X/24 wont talk to 10.0.2.X/24

Have you checked the devices are using different IPs? 10.X.X.X? if your lucky they might all be on 10.0.X.X/24

@hobbit666 Not sure what the situation is like in the UK with the prices on GPUs but here in AUS it's pretty crazy at the moment. I was looking into a gaming PC build for my friend's son and found only Dell had a really good value deal on eBay during one of their promos: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/619439 The still available RTX 3070 are now sold for almost 2k here! And this is only an upper mid-range Nvidia GPU AFAIK.

Not great, my looking I can't find any site with half decent graphics card in stock
I've been looking at GTX 1650 to keep in budget but nothing.
So we're going to delay maybe until oct/Nov and review the build or buy options

@Mr-Jones without looking or thinking to hard, that would be my first thought using converters into Cat6/5e

Waiting for a reply from a ISP on what they are going to do with a site that some how had the broadband migrated, despite it being part of our MPLS

Yeah that's what I did and I'm mining with while not gaming. I received my PC on April 17th and I've already made over $400 back mining in less than a month.

Which is why there is no GPUs right now. You could nearly have it paid off by Christmas instead of start looking at Christmas. Of. Course the mining payout depends on alot of factors, but even if you get only $100 a month, you have half your investment back in a year.

What you using for the mining. Been very very long time since I looked at it

Look for a solution for a building to building wireless link. Only around 50m or less.

The only way to easily get any sort of graphics card right now is to buy a pre-built. I haven't even looked at prices in months because the market is so crazy right now.

Yeah this is what I'm finding. I've used sites to get a config then looked at buying the parts separate, as i thought it would be good to get her to build it too 🙂 but just can't find the GTX cards.

What would suggest today for a gaming PC?
Budget is £700 for just the box. Also any recommendations on specs, daughter wants to play Minecraft, Sub Nautica, Fortnite.
(But i want to be able to play Counter Strike, Modern Warefare (not fussed running at Ultra detail settings) 🙂 )

Does anyone know if that is portable to the degree where you could throw it in your car, and set it up out in the middle of nowhere?

I would imagine you can as you just point the dish up (yeah in the right direction etc)
I think I saw something saying they were looking at working with the military to install on ships and other vehicles

Tried out v2 of my VESA microscope mount.
98% better, only problem made the screwing screw holes to small. But a quick drill will solve that.
